Alana was born and raised in Caguas, Puerto Rico, where her love for fashion was shaped by the island’s rhythm and spirit. At 15, she began apprenticing under designer Lisa Thon at NY Fashion Week, later earning a B.F.A. in Fashion Design from SCAD. Her path led to New York, where she trained with Elie Tahari, Anna Sui, and Isabel Toledo, and eventually completed a Master’s in Business at the Universitat de Barcelona to deepen her strategic vision.
Back in New York, Alana collaborated with creatives and brands including Nine West, Lauren Conrad, Scott Schumann, Sarah Hyland, Jenny Walton, and Ralph Lauren. Her work has even dressed artists for NPR’s Tiny Desk. Most recently, she served as Senior Designer at Nine West before launching her own label.
Today, she leads Sazón as founder and creative director — a brand rooted in romance, craftsmanship, intention, and identity. Sazón is a love letter to Puerto Rico and a vision for where fashion can go. Her mission: to enable Latinas to strengthen their sense of identity through style.
